2019 was the year of the launch of the Steampod 3.0 from L'Oréal Professionnel, in partnership with Rowenta. The success of Steampod is well-established. But with progress, 2022 will mark the release of the Steampod 4.0.

Steampod 4.0: Common Points with Steampod 3.0

Let's first look at the common points between Steampod 3.0 and Steampod 4.0.

The plates

First of all, the plates on both models are ceramic, coated with aluminum. These plates are ultra-resistant and allow for 218,750 passes over the hair, which means they can last for 20 years! They are also floating, which allows for a better grip on the hair section, and most importantly, prevents it from being crushed.

The temperature

Another common point between the two Steampods: the choice of temperature. Indeed, whatever your hair type, whether fine or thick, the Steampod is for you. You can adjust the temperature: 180°C – 200°C or 210°C. Each hair type has its temperature!

The steam

Another important common point is steam! Thanks to patented technology, the hair fiber will be maximally respected. The flow rate is 0.8g/min, continuously. The straightening combs

Unlike the Steampod 3.0 which only had one removable straightening comb, the Steampod 4.0 has three. Why three, you ask? Simply to offer every hair type its own comb. So you have:

• a fine-toothed comb, designed for straight to wavy hair
• an intermediate-toothed comb, for curly hair
• finally, a wide-toothed comb, specifically for very curly to coily hair

The external heating plates

The external plates are therefore heated and ergonomic, reaching a temperature of up to 100°C. They make it easier to curl hair. Thanks to these external plates, you will get more defined and bouncier curls compared to the Steampod 3.0. Moreover, these curls will last much longer, and will be softer and shinier.
