Arm waxing, yes, but only with wax!

épilation des bras

Less popular than leg or bikini line waxing, arm waxing still has its devotees. Discover everything you need to know about this beauty practice, as well as the right steps to take.

______________

The arms are a quite visible body part, especially in summer with dresses and tank tops. Generally, we don't pay much attention to them, unless we decide to adorn them with pretty bracelets and other accessories. However, for other people, arms are a real complex.

Indeed, many women and young girls have very noticeable hair growth. This is partly due to their hormones and their genes. Thus, brunettes are more often confronted with dark and very visible hair. Fairly long hair can also be a source of trouble for anyone. For aesthetic reasons, 22% of French women wax their arms, or are considering it more and more seriously.

At Gouiran Beauté, we are convinced that beauty resides in every woman, regardless of her attributes and characteristics. But we are also aware of the discomfort you may experience at any time. That's why in this article, we share with you all the best practices observed by professionals so that your arm waxing is done in the best conditions.

Arm waxing: Say NO to shaving!

So we declare the hunt for hair open! Soft and silky skin is within your reach, or at least, is just waiting to be the one covering them! On the other hand, ladies, be careful, you don't get rid of your hair just any old way !

Of paramount importance: forget your razor!! Plus, it's not eco-friendly! ❌

Shaving your skin, regardless of the area, always carries risks. By cutting the hair at its base with a razor, it can lead to ingrown hairs. And yes, that's right, an ingrown hair. Horrifying! Not to mention the irritations and inflammations that can occur after the blades. And if by chance, the hair grows back out of the skin, it will be thicker, because it will have been cut straight and blunt.

So in summary, even if it saves time, the razor for your arms (and elsewhere), is a no-go!

For your arms, prefer waxing!

There's no doubt, wax is truly the Swiss Army knife of hair removal! After the underarms and the upper lip, it's also used for forearms.

Thanks to hot wax, hairs are directly pulled from their bulb. After each waxing, the bulbs weaken and grow finer and much lighter hairs.

Isn't that a hair-raising method?

We highly recommend this method, which is the most effective and long-lasting. Of course, it will require time and patience, but you will be satisfied with the results as you continue to wax!

To wax your arms, nothing could be simpler: get a wax heater, peelable wax, and an applicator spatula.

For your beginnings as an amateur beautician, you can trust the Perron Rigot Happy Waxing professional starter kit.

It includes all the necessary equipment for home waxing at a mini price! In addition, the wax beads provided are extra gentle, for the most sensitive skin.

Furthermore, the wax heater is very easy to use. You just turn it on, and once the wax is melted, it maintains it in the pot at an optimal temperature.

What are good practices to adopt during waxing?

  • Sit comfortably, with your arms resting on a table in front of you.
  • Use your dominant hand to wax your non-dominant arm first.
  • Apply the melted wax with a wide spatula in the direction of hair growth, from the inside of your arm outwards.
  • Remove the solidified wax with your finger in the opposite direction of application.
  • Remember to take your time, especially when waxing your other arm. It's not a race!
  • Consider using a mirror if you are not flexible enough to see your elbow.

How to care for my skin post-waxing?

As usual, don't forget to moisturize your skin to comfort it after what it has just been through. A post-waxing oil with antiseptic properties helps to relieve irritation and feelings of heat.

When is the next session?

Oh, unlike shaving, you have time! At least 3 to 4 weeks, when the hairs are at least 4mm long, not before.
