UV rays, detergents, or water are elements that easily attack the nail. It then becomes soft, brittle, ridged, or splits.
Gouiran Beauté then gives you some tips for your nails to regain their strength and condition.

Origins and symptoms

A nail is composed of several keratin plates. The latter is a natural protein. When it is weakened or damaged, problems appear on the nail.

Daily physical or chemical aggressions can weaken nails. They then become soft, brittle, split, and ridges form across their width or length.

Indeed, frequent contact with water can be the cause of this problem. The structure of the nail is naturally porous. This is why water makes the nail vulnerable. The layers of keratin on the nail then swell, separate, and dry out.

But other factors can also sensitize the nail: aging, UV rays, cold or heat, aggressive manicures, detergents, or genetic predispositions.

Repairing nails

To regain beautiful nails, you must adopt good habits:

1/ Stop biting your nails and protect your hands with gloves when doing household chores.

2/ We impose a discipline: we cut them short and space out manicures. When they are too long, they become brittle faster. As for excessive nail polish application, it ends up suffocating the nail.
For this, use a nail file more regularly to prevent them from splitting. Prefer a cardboard file. File from the outside to the inside and always in the same direction.

Our favorite: The Beautélive nail file

3/ Opt for a protective polish like the Peggy Sage 4-in-1 treatment. It strengthens the nail structure and fights against their weakening.

4/ Adopt castor oil to nourish your nails regularly.

The one you will love: Beautélive castor oil

In any case, patience, detox, and care are the key to having beautiful hands. ☺
