Oxidizer
For a hair coloring service to be fully successful and thus satisfy your clientele, several elements must be taken into account and not left to chance.
First, the choice of coloring cream: oxidative, semi-permanent, or temporary, which will depend on the person's expectations.
Appropriate equipment must also be used to achieve the color professionally: bowl, shaker, dispenser, and brush should be carefully chosen and regularly replaced for impeccable hygiene in your salon.
But if there is one essential component for the success of this service, it is the developer!
How to choose your developer?
After diagnosis and once the shade and reflection have been chosen with the client, you need to determine which dosage and percentage of hydrogen peroxide to use. This chemical product is indeed necessary for the color to penetrate the heart of the hair cuticles through a process called "oxidation."
Several volumes are available: 30 volume or 40 volume developer, everything will depend on the desired final result. Generally, the choice will be made based on the natural base you are dealing with and the degree of lightening you wish to achieve. The more you want to lighten, the higher the volume, even if it means going through bleaching.
Also remember to consider the percentage of white hair your client has. And for a perfect homogeneity of the coloring mixture, we advise you to choose it from the same range as the color (Majirel, Dialight, Igora, etc.).
What's the difference with a color activator?
Also called an activator, this is only used for "tone-on-tone" colors where natural hair is adorned with reflections, without significant changes from the base color.
To avoid any disappointment with your hair color, it is generally preferable to refer to the usage instructions on the product's leaflet.
