If you wear glasses, you've probably encountered this problem in front of the mirror: how do you do your makeup when your vision is poor? Read these beauty tips from Le Mag' now!

______________

Many of us have to live with glasses every day, sometimes from a young age. They provide the necessary vision correction without which any daily task becomes complicated (reading, walking, writing...).

Are glasses an obstacle to makeup?

Gone are the days when glasses were only associated with practical use. Much more than that, today they are a real fashion accessory. Some people even go so far as to wear neutral lenses to give themselves a half-chic/half-sensible style.

But let's get back to the point. Wearing prescription glasses remains a constraint for many women when it comes to makeup. It's already a feat to get the eyeliner flick right when you can see well, so imagine the difficulty of the exercise with myopia!

Every day, they have to take on the challenge of doing their makeup while seeing blurry !

How to apply mascara or eyeshadow without making a mess once you take off your glasses? Certainly not by calling a professional makeup artist every day!

A brilliant trick shared on TikTok!

It seems that a German influencer named Rose Friederike has found the solution to no longer having to give up on precise (and especially successful) makeup.

The trick? A simple gadget that we probably could have thought of sooner: the monocle ! But not just any monocle!

A monocle that seems very promising as it currently has over 9M views on the TikTok platform. The principle is simple: an inverted frame on which a magnifying corrective lens swings from left to right. We'll let you see for yourself!

Isn't that THE miracle solution for doing your eyes one after the other when you have a visual impairment? Of course it is!! 🤓

And you know what? You can easily get this type of glasses on any e-commerce platform for a steal!

Glasses and makeup: rules to follow

With its ease of use and effectiveness, this monocle seems to meet all criteria. However, it will not tell you how to do your makeup.

Indeed, when you wear glasses, they cover a good part of your face, especially if they have thick or colorful frames. You also need to consider the correction of your lenses, and their visual effect on your gaze.

Here are some basic principles to follow for structuring your gaze when wearing glasses:

  • Always adapt your makeup to your lenses.
  • Therefore, opt for kohl or eyeliner with dark eyeshadow shades if you are farsighted (because the lens magnifies the eye).
  • Conversely, favor light and luminous shades if you are nearsighted (to enlarge the gaze).
  • In all cases, feel free to use mascara on your lashes. Prefer a curling effect to prevent them from touching the glasses due to their length.
  • If you cannot get the monocle, use short-handled brushes to get as close to your mirror as possible without being hindered.
  • Is your frame dark and tortoiseshell? Don't darken your eyes further, but opt for beige kohl and pastel shadows.
  • For glasses with transparent frames, you have a green light; allow yourself the most beautiful colorful gradients !

If eye makeup isn't your cup of tea, opt for a colored lip that will have just as much impact! A lipstick that matches your skin tone will harmonize your face.
