Manicure trends come and go, each one unique! From fake nails and tips to nude colors and whimsical nail art designs, the nail industry is rich and varied, catering to all tastes. And since each season brings its own set of new trends, today we're introducing a new way to enhance your nails this fall:
the reverse French manicure!
______________
Don't understand this uncommon term? Don't worry, we'll explain it! Literally "inverted French manicure," it's essentially a traditional manicure, done "in reverse."
Back to basics: the French manicure
To understand the principle of the reverse French (also called "cuticle cuffs"), we need to go back to basics!

The classic French is a nail beautification technique that involves painting the tips of the nails white. Over time, white has been replaced by other flashier colors, such as red or purple... But the principle remains the same.
This manicure has been around for a long time, well before the 90s. It's therefore not surprising that many women have grown tired of it, preferring to try new, more avant-garde techniques.
However, the French manicure is not out for the count! Like a warrior, it returns stronger in 2021, albeit slightly transformed.
The reverse French, discreet and stunning

And yes, that's where we get to the reverse French. For a much more minimalist look, the polish line on the tip of the nail has moved to the other side, to its base, to highlight the cuticles.
Do you understand now why we also talk about "cuticle cuffs"?
The reverse French manicure is therefore about drawing the outline of the cuticles!
The inverted French manicure is popular not only because it is very elegant, but also because it doesn't require any technical products like gel or tips. Unlike the American overlay we mentioned at the beginning of the month, the inverted French is done directly on the natural nail.
It's ultimately a simple hand beautification accessible to everyone. Provided you have polish (obviously!) and a very fine brush. For your nail art to last more than a few days, we advise you to protect it with a layer of transparent protective polish.
And for the most extravagant among you, who love the chic side of this manicure but want to add a little "pep," you can certainly innovate! Embellish your reverse French with rhinestones, glitter, several shades, or even better: paint the rest of the nail in a contrasting color!
