You just dropped your blush palette and most of it is in pieces? You did well to rush to Google to find a solution! Gouiran Beauté Le Mag’ gives you some tips to save your broken makeup.
______________
Whether clumsy or not, we all know that heartbreaking moment. Yes, the one where our face powder slips through our fingers and nonchalantly crashes to the floor in a fraction of a second.
We bend down, hold our breath, reluctantly turn over the small case (thank you, Murphy's Law), and then it's a disaster: this once smooth powder is now in 1000 pieces.
"Irrecoverable," you might say.
Broken makeup: don't throw it away, repair it!
This painful situation – and that's an understatement – can happen with various compact cosmetic products. Eyeshadow, bronzer, blush, mattifying powder, liquid foundation... It's truly heartbreaking when these break, as some can be worth a small fortune.

So, what to do??
No need to grieve, we assure you that a broken cosmetic or makeup can be saved!

Tip #1 💡 alcohol (and not the drinking kind!)
90% alcohol is denatured alcohol for medical use. Its transparent appearance, the certain amount of water in its composition, and its evaporation allow it to re-solidify powdered cosmetics. There is obviously no risk to the skin!
How to proceed?
0️⃣ Most importantly, do not pick up any pieces that may have escaped from the compact. It's not hygienic.
1️⃣ Finish breaking the salvageable powder by crushing it with the tip of a spoon. The final result should be homogeneous. You can keep the original container if it is still intact.
2️⃣ Gradually add 2 capfuls of 90% alcohol (for a classic size) or just a few drops (for a small size). In the second case, a sprayer can also do the trick. If there is too much alcohol, remove the excess with a tissue.
3️⃣ Wait a few seconds for the alcohol to be absorbed.
4️⃣ Stir the mixture with a makeup brush, a spatula, or your clean index finger, depending on the size of the makeup. At this stage, take your time!
5️⃣ Once a pasty texture is obtained, spread it evenly in the compact.
6️⃣ Wait a moment for the mixture to harden slightly.
7️⃣ Cover the entire thing with plastic film and, with the back of a spoon, smooth the surface.
8️⃣ Still with a tissue, dab the surface to remove any residual moisture.
9️⃣ Do not close your powder/blush/eyeshadow immediately, but wait a good 2 hours for the alcohol to evaporate. The makeup must be completely dry before it can be used.
🔟 Optional: clean the sides of the case for makeup that looks like new!

Tip #2 💡 moisturizing cream
If 90% alcohol is not part of your medicine cabinet, you can make up for it with a moisturizing cream. This way, you'll get a homemade BB cream or a creamy eyeshadow!
For this:
0️⃣ As with the first tip, we don't pick up the pieces on the floor!
1️⃣ Crush the broken makeup and pour it into a lidded jar. The powder should be completely fine.
2️⃣ Add a certain amount of moisturizing cream (the most natural among those you have).
3️⃣ Then mix the 2 substances well so that the final cream is homogeneous. And there you have it!
Le Mag' Tip: use a small electric whisk, like those used for Matcha tea, for a perfect blend!

There are many other alternatives to fix your broken cosmetics. We have presented the easiest and safest to perform (the iron technique did not particularly appeal to us).
Also know that the simplest solution is to use your makeup as a loose powder, applied with a powder puff! 😉
