GETTING STARTED
You will first notice the presence of 3 combs designed to facilitate straightening. Depending on your taste and preferences, you can choose to integrate it or not, as it is removable.
Next, you'll find the famous reservoir that will allow steam to be emitted and therefore needs to be filled with water. Make sure you have detached the reservoir from the device before filling it. For perfect conditions, use demineralized water. Once this small step is completed, you can place the reservoir back in its proper location.
Then plug in the straightener and press the ON/OFF button for a few seconds to turn it on.
TEMPERATURE SELECTION
Several temperature levels are available on the Steampod 4.0 straightener, ranging from 180° to 210°. This choice should not be taken lightly and must be made according to your hair type.
- If your hair is fine, fragile, or damaged, opt for a temperature of 180°
- A temperature of 200° should be selected if you have normal hair or a rather flexible texture
- If you have thick or curly hair, choose a temperature of 210°
To adjust the device, use the "+" and "-" buttons until you reach the desired temperature.
USE AND HANDLING
What product to use with Steampod 4.0?
Before using the plates, we recommend applying the milk or cream from the same range for best results. These treatments are notably available in the "pack" versions we offer on the Gouiran Beauté website.
You can then separate your hair into 3 different sections, starting by straightening the underneath strands first. Then detangle your hair using your favorite brush.
For optimal hair straightening, the device should always glide in the same direction (arrows pointing downwards). Thanks to its continuous steam process, only one pass will be necessary to obtain a perfectly straightened, supple, and shiny hair strand!
If you want to create waves or curls, pivot the Steampod on itself to give your hair the wavy shape, after carefully removing the covers on the outside of the device. This will allow you to use the external heating plates.
Once the styling is complete, finish the blow-dry with L'Oréal Professionnel's "Perfect Ends" serum, which will provide silkiness and optimal protection to the hair fiber. This treatment is perfectly suitable as it is formulated with keratin for perfectly cared for and protected hair.
Now you can use a single product before and after straightening: the Professional Smoothing Treatment, which will protect the hair, facilitate straightening, and make it shine.
Finally, remember to turn off and unplug the device when you are no longer using it.
How to clean Steampod 4.0?
To keep your device in perfect working order and ensure its longevity, we recommend following these quick and easy maintenance tips:
- Let the straightener cool down before any cleaning action
- Wipe with a damp cloth and dry with a dry cloth
- For plate maintenance, use household alcohol (only 2 to 3 times a year)
- After use, empty the water reservoir
- Remove the comb and clean it with soap and water, then dry it before repositioning it on the device
