Having a beautiful, flawless manicure is many people's dream. However, the drying time of nail polish can be frustrating, especially when you're in a hurry. Fortunately, there are a few simple tips to speed up the nail polish drying process and avoid the inconvenience of damaged nails. Here are some tips to dry your nail polish faster.
______________
For a successful polish, we all follow an application ritual: preparing the nail, applying a base coat, applying the polish, top coat… and of course, waiting long minutes between each coat.
However, you are impatient and desperately looking to dry your polish faster. We have some tips to reveal to you to reduce your waiting time!
Drying spray
First solution, you can choose a drying spray used by many nail artists. The trick is to apply a spray to each coat of your polish.
Be sure to apply it before the top coat to avoid limiting its glossy effect.
Use a nail dryer to dry the polish
Similar in function to a hairdryer, there is a small device that speeds up the drying of your nail polish: the nail dryer. It's a small machine designed specifically for drying nail polish. Its use is both simple and effective. Simply slide your fingertips into the designated slot and wait a few seconds.
Nail dryers come in two types of devices: one that uses air and one that uses UV light.
Prices vary depending on brands and models.
Home tips
If you want to use a more economical drying method, there are some "home solutions" available to you:
Use ice water to dry nail polish

Nail polish dries on contact with cold temperatures. Ice water is therefore an effective solution.
But how do you use cold water to dry nail polish? It's simple:
- Fill a bowl with cold water and ice cubes.
- After applying the polish, wait a few seconds.
- Dip your fingers in the ice water for 3 minutes.
The cold shocks the polish and sets it. For the bravest, place your hands in the refrigerator for a few minutes to speed up drying.
You can also simply run them under cold water, but without rubbing them.
Oil is also effective for drying nail polish
Oil turns out to be an effective natural way to "freeze" nail polish. There are drying oils made especially for nails. Simply apply a drop to the center of the nail immediately after applying the polish. Easy to apply, you won't get it everywhere!
You can also use coconut oil or olive oil if you don't have drying oil.

Hairdryer or fan
Use a hairdryer to speed up the process. Choose the coldest air setting and expose your nails. Using warm air would make the polish softer and prevent it from drying. But be careful, don't place your nails too close to the device's nozzle, as this risks leaving marks on the polish and resulting in a non-smooth manicure.
Apply thin coats of polish
To optimize drying, be careful when applying the polish!
Applying thin coats rather than thick ones saves time. Application and drying will be faster. To do this, make sure the brush has been rid of any excess product so that very little is applied to the nail.
Wait for the first coat to be completely dry before applying the second, otherwise it will take longer to dry.
Avoid sudden movements
Finally, to avoid damaging your fresh manicure, avoid sudden movements and activities that could damage the polish before it is completely dry. Wait at least 30 minutes after application before resuming your normal activities.
By following these tips, you can enjoy a flawless manicure without having to wait hours for the nail polish to dry completely. Feel free to try these different methods to find the one that suits you best and dry your nail polish faster.
