Puffy eyes, we're saying no more!

Les poches sous les yeux, on dit stop !

They make you look tired and detract from your eyes: under-eye bags are a bane for many men and women. To put an end to this unsightly puffiness, Gouiran Beauté Le Mag gives you some tips!

______________

Sorry to disappoint you, but a face isn't always perfect. The skin texture isn't as smooth and the skin isn't as taut as in commercials!

Every day, our face accompanies us through every moment of life; it's what expresses all our emotions. So, we can't blame it when it shows a wrinkle because we smiled too much, or dark circles because we didn't sleep enough.

Unsurprisingly, we must therefore pamper our face because we owe it that much! Speaking of dark circles, another sign alerts us when it's time to pay attention to our skin: under-eye bags !

Why do we get under-eye bags?

We have all experienced the appearance of more or less pronounced growths under our eyes at some point. Lack of sleep leading to swollen eyelids? That's one possible reason. To know how to get rid of your under-eye bags, you need to know a little more about them. Because it's by knowing your enemy that you can overcome it! 💪

Under-eye bags are present in more people than we think. Not because many of us stay up late and regret our short nights, but because it is sometimes a matter of subcutaneous fluid retention.

Indeed, it turns out that with age, the tissues making up the lower eyelid tend to retain and accumulate fluids more. What is this due to? To skin and muscle relaxation. This is how fatty and watery deposits accumulate in this part of the eye. In other cases, such as a congenital disease or heredity, this relaxation is also observed.

A diet that is too rich, poor lifestyle habits, tobacco, alcohol, and of course fatigue are also favorable factors for eye swelling. They are known to harm blood and lymphatic microcirculation.

Eliminate bags to regain a fresh look

When it comes to under-eye bags, there's no need for cosmetic surgery. Rolling up your sleeves and trying our natural beauty secrets will help you get rid of them. Come on, let's de-puff everything!

1) Cold, the grandma's remedy

Cold is an excellent stimulant for the skin. An ice cube in a washcloth applied under each eye for 5 minutes upon waking will help reduce puffiness. Indeed, when we sleep, we lie down; therefore, all bodily microcirculation slows down. And it is during this slowdown that some fluids take the opportunity to settle around the eyes. Using cold will somehow help your body wake up and restart circulation.

No ice cubes in the freezer? A small spoon placed in the fridge 15 minutes before is one of the possible alternatives. 😉

2) Eye contour treatments

If the morning cold, especially in winter, isn't really your thing, you can always opt for eye contour treatments. Oils, creams, patches, serums… Applied morning and night during your skincare routine, and you're good to go! These cosmetic products will provide hydration and radiance to the very sensitive skin in this area.

Patches are interesting to use because they contain semi-solidified nourishing ingredients that slowly penetrate the epidermis for all-day action.

An eye contour cream or serum also helps to eliminate under-eye bags, provided you combine it with a massage tool for better subcutaneous stimulation. Most of these treatments contain hyaluronic acid, which is beneficial for maintaining skin elasticity. The added bonus: they prevent the appearance of wrinkles!

As for vegetable oils, they are appreciated for their rich, 100% natural formula that is non-aggressive for the skin. To apply them, don't rub, but gently pat. Read our article "Eye Contour: the best vegetable oils" to learn more!

3) Lymphatic drainage

To naturally remove under-eye bags, you can drain your lower eyelids. Lymphatic drainage consists of stimulating lymph (biological fluid) and blood circulation under the eyes through massage. Massage with more or less pressure with your fingertips or using specific tools such as a jade roller or a Gua Sha stone. For an effective massage, start from the inner corner of the eye and move upwards towards the temple using your index finger folded in half or an accessory. The ideal is to repeat this movement 5 times for each eye!
