In short, it's once a year, but our body doesn't thank us for it! Today, we offer you your perfectly achievable detox cure for weight loss.

How to manage (and digest?) the post-holiday period? Here are some of our tips for a detox cure that will do you good and help you lose weight. In fact, we are now going to follow them to the letter... Yes, indeed! Let's take a look at good practices to finally feel better after this week of small (or big) excesses!

Drink, drink 🍵

The keyword: WATER! It is therefore important to hydrate your body. As you know, we often neglect water during Christmas and New Year's Eve meals. So don't hesitate to catch up and drink the recommended 2 L per day. A little extra: to eliminate toxins effectively, a glass of warm water with lemon juice on an empty stomach is ideal.

If you are a fan of hot drinks, treat yourself to cups of tea! Indeed, there are several "detox" teas that can be used as a cure.

Our favorites: Kusmi "Detox" tea made with mate, green tea, and lemongrass.

Consume detoxifying vegetables 🥝

So forget everything that is fatty, sweet, or salty! And start by adapting what you put on your plate to carry out your detox cure. Opt for foods that facilitate digestion:

  • Fibers: white beans, lentils, flageolet beans, peas...
  • Legumes: white beans, soybeans, lentils, split peas, chickpeas...
  • Seasonal fruits and vegetables: cabbage, turnips, leeks, celery, carrots & pineapples, bananas, lemons, clementines, mandarins, kiwis, pomegranates, oranges, pears...

Above all, don't forget 5 fruits and vegetables a day! Consume them without moderation! They are naturally rich in antioxidants, water, and fiber, which helps rehydrate the body and improve intestinal transit.

Moreover, choose seasonal fruits and vegetables: prices are therefore lower and often locally produced!

Regarding their cooking, avoid using fats and opt for steam cooking.

Prioritize soups and detox juices 🥣

In the evening, favor homemade soups; they are easy to make and light for the body.

Recipe for a detox soup

  1. Rinse your vegetables then cut them into cubes of the same size.
  2. In a large pot, sweat the vegetables with olive oil for 5 minutes. Cover with water until the vegetables are submerged and let them cook for 20 minutes over medium heat.
  3. Add the cumin and blend your soup, keeping the cooking water.
  4. Serve with a few cumin seeds.

 

In the morning or during the day, you can drink detox juices. Two possibilities: buy them in stores or make them yourself.

Recipe for a homemade detox juice:

  • Cucumber
  • Green apples
  • Leafy vegetables: spinach, Chinese cabbage
  • Kiwi
  • Lime juice
  • Ginger

Start by cleaning the ingredients under cold water (keep the skin as it contains a large amount of vitamins and minerals). Then, cut your vegetables and fruits small enough.

Then pass them through your juicer (keep the vegetables whole, i.e., with skin and seeds). To facilitate the process, fill the juicer little by little.

Now pour the detox juice into a large glass bottle with a lid, then place it in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour before enjoying the juice.

It is recommended to drink about 2 to 3 glasses of 200 ml/day.

Regarding storage, it should be consumed within 48 hours. After 24 hours, its color starts to turn khaki green, which indicates that it contains much fewer nutrients.

Take a steam bath 🛀

Sweating helps to eliminate toxins, nothing new there! The most effective way without effort: sauna sessions.

Skin during detox

First of all, what if you started by thoroughly rehydrating your body? Ultimately, your skin will appear less dull and less tired. Then, for a deep action, a steam bath accompanied byessential oils is perfect. This will help dilate the pores and deeply cleanse the face. Finally, you can rinse your face with cold water.

As for makeup, opt for the absolute minimum! Swap your foundation for a light BB cream. Use a detox facial cleanser to get rid of impurities at the end of the day, then apply a light-textured treatment to avoid clogging pores. You can also choose to apply a vegetable oil, which will be ideal for naturally and lastingly rehydrating.

And why not a replumping mask to give your complexion a boost and erase signs of fatigue before returning to work!

And exercise to be slender!

As you know, you still need to move a little after sitting for hours. For those who exercise regularly, slowly get back into good habits. Otherwise, take public transport instead of your car. Similarly, get some fresh air whenever you can, on foot or by bike, now take the stairs instead of the elevator, etc...
Ultimately, you know these little tricks, so take courage with both hands and your glutes will thank you!
