Put aside razors and creams for your clients' hair removal sessions. Razors and creams only cut the hair and don't remove the root, leading to thick regrowth after only two days. Not to mention the risk of cuts, ingrown hairs, and especially the foul and aggressive odor of depilatory products.
To ensure hair-free skin for several weeks, opt for wax instead. Cold wax, hot wax in cartridges or pots – the choice is yours!
The advantage of wax pots
Hair removal wax pots have the advantage of containing a generous amount of wax. Of course, it's necessary to have a pot warmer to ensure proper hair removal. Do you find it too expensive and more restrictive than a simple shave? However, the price is worth the quality and long-lasting results. If you plan to professionalize hair removal, now is the time to try the benefits of wax.
These liposoluble waxes, available in 800ml pots, must be selected according to the area to be epilated and your clients' skin type. For Beautélive and RICA brands, they are removed with the help of hair removal strips.
Depending on the area to be treated, also choose appropriate spatulas. Facial hair removal will require a very thin spatula. In contrast, a wider tool will be suitable for larger areas (legs, thighs, etc.).
To each fragrance its virtues!
Different pleasant scents will be available. It's up to you to select your favorite scent without neglecting your skin type.
Opt for the softness of coconut, argan oil, or aloe vera if your client has sensitive skin.
Is your skin rather dry? Let yourself be carried away by the sweet indulgence of banana and the nourishing benefits of olive oil.
Finally, find the subtlety of lemon or the purity of honey for normal skin.
Heating your wax
It may seem tedious at first, but you'll quickly get the hang of it.
First, thoroughly clean the area to be epilated. Second, insert the pot into your wax warmer and set the indicator to the maximum temperature. Wait until your wax reaches a fluidity similar to honey. After that, lower the indicator to the minimum temperature.
Now it's time to apply! Be meticulous and careful not to burn the client! Apply a small amount following the direction of hair growth. Place the strip, applying pressure so that it adheres well to the product.
Finally comes the crucial and not-so-pleasant moment. Grab the end of your strip and pull it off with a sharp motion against the direction of hair growth. Remove wax residue with a post-epilation oil.
Red spots may appear on the skin after waxing. Don't panic, this phenomenon is normal. Reassure your client that it will fade quickly.
