For making up the eyes, lips, and for complexion work, makeup brushes are essential accessories for any beauty bag. They facilitate the application of makeup and thus allow for much better results than with fingers.

    A brush for every need

With short or long bristles, beveled edges, or simply foam, there is a multitude of brushes for applying makeup. While their use holds no secrets for beauty professionals, it can be difficult for a mere amateur to navigate. Discover all types of makeup brushes available at Gouiran Beauté.

Let's start with the complexion, which is the foundation of makeup. Just as foundation comes in different forms, there is a brush for each type. For liquid foundation, a flat brush with firm but soft bristles is preferred for gliding the product onto the skin, as well as a concealer brush. For applying loose powder and blush, a kabuki brush and a very wide, beveled brush with very soft bristles are used respectively.

When it comes to the eyes, there are many brushes! Short, flat bristles are for applying eyeshadow, while fairly round and very short blending brushes will stretch the color to blur demarcation lines. The angled brush, on the other hand, is ideal for drawing a thin eyeliner line along the lash line.

Eyebrows don't strictly require a brush, but rather a spoolie accompanied by its comb to easily give a beautiful shape to the hairs.

And finally, for the lips, a very fine brush with natural or synthetic bristles is recommended to perfectly follow the contour of the mouth.

    Clean your tools

After each use, it is advisable to store your brushes away from dust and impurities invisible to the naked eye. But not so fast! You also need to clean them. This will allow your tools to remain perfectly clean and hygienic, making them last longer and preventing you from catching skin infections (irritations, conjunctivitis, swelling, impetigo...).

If you don't have a specific cleaning lotion, don't worry: a baby shampoo or a makeup remover mixed with a little water will do the trick. For drying, simply lay your brushes on a clean (obviously) terry towel, making sure the bristles are properly positioned to avoid kinks.
