No matter what type of hair dye you're looking for, you've come to the right place! In this category, you can discover a multitude of professional hair dyes: from the most well-known by L'Oréal Professionnel to the flashiest by Manic Panic, not forgetting Gouiran Beauté's own brand, Beautélive, and its ranges Aloé Color and Aloé Light Tones.

But before we start, a little lesson for today...

    What is hair coloring?

Hair coloring is a rather subtle technical process aimed at dyeing hair. The terminology and application methods are quite specific and require a minimum of research before considering such a change in appearance.

Because even if some hair dyes are called "temporary", coloring your hair at home or at a hairdresser's is not a trivial act.

There are 3 types of hair dyes:

    • ephemeral hair dye
    • temporary / semi-permanent hair dye
    • permanent hair dye

    Ephemeral hair dye

Coloring your hair ephemerally is ideal if it's for a special event (birthday, Halloween, wedding...) or a sudden whim! It's a hair dye that doesn't commit for the long term, but only for 5 to 10 shampoos. Why? Because the color is only deposited on the surface of the hair. Hight Voltage Manic Panic dyes will be your best allies for trying out vibrant shades and adding pizzazz to your hair!

    Semi-permanent / temporary hair dye

As its name suggests, this dye is at the crossroads of temporary and permanent. It allows you to take the plunge into hair coloring without keeping it indefinitely... It's the happy medium! It can mask the first gray hairs but does not lighten the hair. Indeed, it is a color that penetrates the inside of the hair fiber, but does not modify the natural pigment; it only envelops it. How long does it last? 2 to 3 months!

Among semi-permanent dyes, there is an increasingly popular service: tone-on-tone hair coloring. It's ideal for adding highlights to the hair while staying close to its natural color, thus achieving softer hair. Using a developer that only activates the dye in certain areas of the hair, it fades after 28 shampoos. For those of you, ladies, who have a light base and are looking to nuance it, take a look at Schwarzkopf's Blond Me range!

In summary, temporary / semi-permanent coloring is therefore the most suitable for moderately long periods, such as summer holidays, or any other occasional event.

    Permanent hair dye

This process aims to irreversibly color the natural pigment of the hair. This means that it is a dye that will never fade; only the roots will leave a trace of your natural color during regrowth (to be covered every 2-3 months). It requires a chemical product (the oxidant) that opens the hair cuticles to allow the color to penetrate and thus modify the pigment. This is called oxidation. Permanent coloring lightens natural hair by up to 6 shades and covers 100% of gray hair.

It should be specified that there are 2 types of permanent dyes: ammonia-based dyes and ammonia-free dyes, replaced by other milder components. Discover the Oil Prestige range, an ammonia-free permanent dye offered by Edaïa. Its 5 precious oils will take care of your hair for a gentle coloring.
