At Gouiran Beauté, we tell you everything.
Our preliminary advice for your oxidation coloring
First, you must perform a test on the crook of your elbow or behind your ear. To do this, apply a small amount of dye 48 hours beforehand and check if any redness or itching appears.
Also, do not shampoo 48 hours before your coloring. The purpose? To allow sebum to form a protective film on the scalp.
Step 1: Gather all the necessary materials for your oxidation coloring
For your coloring, you need several tools: a bowl, a brush, a measuring cup, and protective items.
Do not use metal tools, as you could cause a chemical reaction when they come into contact with the dye.
You can also use a smock to protect your clothes and gloves.

Step 2: Choose your oxidizer
Depending on the result you want for your hair color, you must choose your oxidizer based on its volume and percentage. This is essential; without it, you won't be able to achieve your desired color.
To help you, here are some explanations:
- to darken hair: a 10 volume or 20 volume oxidizer
- to cover gray hair: opt for a 30 volume oxidizer
- to lighten hair: choose a 40 volume oxidizer

To do your coloring, you need to mix the dye and the oxidizer in your bowl. To find out the necessary dosage, refer to your dye tube. Everything is indicated there.
Step 4: Apply your dye
To apply your dye, create a parting with a tail comb and let it sit for 35 minutes.

Step 5: Reveal your color
Once your coloring is applied, shampoo with a post-color shampoo. It is essential to regulate your hair's pH, giving it strength, softness, and shine.
This also cleanses the hair.
