What is a hair gloss?
A hair gloss is a product that lies between oxidation hair dye and a nourishing treatment. Its formula is rich in colorants to correct unwanted reflections from a hair dye or to restore its shine. Hair gloss is generally formulated with vegetable oils and complementary and neutralizing pigments. The vegetable oils provide additional hydration to the hair to restore its strength and shine, while the pigments can boost certain reflections or, conversely, neutralize undesirable reflections.
This process can be used both in a salon to perfect a hair color and at home to restore radiance to your color between salon visits.
Which hair gloss to choose?
The hair gloss process can be performed on all shades of hair color. Generally widely used on blonde hair to achieve a platinum blonde without yellow undertones, hair glosses can also accentuate coppery, brown, or golden reflections.
Achieving platinum blonde
Platinum blonde has been THE big trend for several years. Women dream of sporting this icy blonde without yellow undertones. Bleaching is very aggressive for the hair fiber, so your hairdresser may prefer to do a neutralizing gloss rather than a new bleach.
To do this, choose a gloss concentrated in violet pigments. They will neutralize yellow undertones thanks to the principles of colorimetry.
Our must-haves:

Shades: 01: Ash Pastel, 02: Iridescent Pastel, 10.21: Ash Iridescent Pastel

Shades: 9.12 Iceberg Milkshake, 10.12: Pearly Iced Milkshake, 10.21: Sorbet Milkshake
Eliminate coppery reflections
Chestnut or brown hair colors can quickly develop coppery reflections that you might not like. To neutralize these orange reflections, the principle is the same as for platinum blonde. However, to neutralize orange reflections, you would choose a hair gloss rich in blue pigments that eliminate coppery reflections according to colorimetry principles.
Revive your color
You love your color when you leave the hairdresser. But after a few weeks, you find it faded... The reflections and shine have disappeared, leaving your hair dull and unappealing. But it's unthinkable for you to visit the hair salon every two weeks, as the budget would be too high.
To revive your color without visiting the hairdresser, you can apply a hair gloss to restore all the vitality of your hair color without having to go back to the hairdresser.
How to gloss hair color?
It's important to keep in mind that hair gloss is a product that requires an oxidation process. While less intense than for a classic oxidation hair dye, it still requires careful attention during application.
To choose the right hair gloss, you can ask your hairdresser or a hairdressing wholesaler who, through experience, will know the shade you need. It will then be essential to respect the dosages and processing time indicated on the tube to obtain a perfect result safely.
Hair gloss is applied to damp, clean hair. It can be applied from the root for a uniform result. As for the processing time, it will depend on the product used and the desired result. Once you are satisfied with the result, simply rinse your hair with clear water without using shampoo, as this could counteract the repairing and nourishing effects of the hair gloss.
You now have all the keys to apply your hair gloss correctly! It's your turn to play 🙂
